We are back with another list of products from Inclusive National Medicine approved by Dr. Katie Schneller for a non-toxic, low toxic, plastic free kitchen.
We’ve got our wooden utensils another variety set different from the ones we’ve shared previously – this one is a little bit nicer because it has a variety of options and there are pasta and spatula spoons.
We also are featuring one of the new cutting boards we just realized is made from pure acacia wood.
Another important aspect of kitchen waste reduction is keeping produce fresh and general nontoxic storage is to store your food in glass jars whenever possible this one has a wood lid and there’s only a tiny bit of silicone on the seal so it keeps your food fresh without contaminating it with too many micro plastics.
A lot of people ask us how we drink plastic free coffee and the best way to do this is with a French press because it allows for the metal filtration system to filter out the beans – you don’t have to use any plastic and you just rinse it out with water after each use! It is one of the most environmentally friendly ways to make coffee! Just be careful that you are gentle on the glass so it doesn’t break. While the handle on this French press specifically maybe plastic – it is one of the more affordable options we definitely recommend using an all metal French press if you can afford it.
A few of our other favorite products this month include these glass nesting mixing bowls. These are so great for entertaining and for food prep! You can even store them in the fridge with the wood lid, for example, if you are marinating something or if you have leftovers. yay!
And finally, we have a plastic free sponge set. If you prefer to have some thing disposable when cleaning the kitchen with low-tox soaps this is a great option without including micro plastics into your dish washing routine.
